If you don’t feel like watching the video, here’s a little summary:

Joseph Kony lives in Central Africa. What Joseph does is, he abducts African kids. He takes them and he keeps them. He makes the boys killers, usually they have to kill their families. When girls are abducted they are turned into sex slaves and are raped. There is no way out of his group: Lord’s Resistance Army, AKA the LRA. He has adbucted over 30,000 children and had made them child soldiers. he won’t stop what he is doing until he is caught, he found out that the US is now on a making to look for him making him harder to find. Right now, Kony is invisible because no one knows about him.. no one. Tell as many people about Kony as you can and make him visible and know. Make him visible. we need change, and we need difference. we need Kony to be famous so we can stop the harm of innocent children,

KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.

Is awareness good? Yes. But these problems are highly complex, not one-dimensional and, frankly, aren’t of the nature that can be solved by postering, film-making and changing your Facebook profile picture, as hard as that is to swallow. Giving your money and public support to Invisible Children so they can spend it on supporting ill-advised violent intervention and movie #12 isn’t helping. Do I have a better answer? No, I don’t, but that doesn’t mean that you should support KONY 2012 just because it’s something. Something isn’t always better than nothing. Sometimes it’s worse.

If you want to write to your Member of Parliament or your Senator or the President or the Prime Minister, by all means, go ahead. If you want to post about Joseph Kony’s crimes on Facebook, go ahead. But let’s keep it about Joseph Kony, not KONY 2012.

Exactly..When I saw this I wanted everyone to know about this, knowledge is power, i hope when everyone knows, we can make a stand and end this brutal violence on innocent children!

Pass the word. Sign the pledge. Every little thing makes a difference.
You're all kind and caring souls in the forum, and I hope that you sign the pledge, and stand up for this cause...that's why I felt it deserved a spot in our forum when I watched the short film in uni.

^ READ THIS. It's important and I agree with it, don't support the organisation, just make Kony famous. I hope our countries can take an action on this.

I am really happy, because my fav Enrique Iglesias posted the video on his FB wall. I am happy when famous people help causes like this one. This way more people will know and maybe we will help those kids.

I do not understand why people would sign it if they refuse to fund the actions because they do not believe in it. They will go through with what they planned even if they only get your signature. I did some research and had decided to help mainly because it seemed like the people of Uganda wanted this help but now I take back everything. I really dislike to associate with groups and had heard about Invisible Children since I was a child and never cared for it because it seemed odd. Now, I will go back to that. I hate organizations. I will stick to donating to the Red Cross and Red Crescent...


I even sent an email denouncing it. I want my signature back too. No more association with them.


And Kony may even be dead or maybe another figment of our imagination like bin Laden was. I do not trust anything anymore. Also, Uganda has been in peace talks for some time now, I guess they were too busy funding and directing this film...

Also, the people that are supporting and promoting it seem like an odd bunch.. I mean Bush and Rice? Of course they want an invasion of Africa. And the rest are all posers.

Politics and "celebrities" suck, so superficial.
Peri, maybe we can be bracelet buddies without any of the politics.

We can get Angel bracelets.

Exactly. I'll just stick to red cross too.. and avoid all these other organizations, because honestly you can't trust them, it's not what it seems.
